SUP YO was originally formed in 2011 as a paddleboard yoga company that over time evolved into many other outdoor adventure offerings from day hikes to weeklong worldwide adventure trips.

COVID-19 Message to our Customers

In light of recent events that are constantly evolving and changing, we understand this is a difficult and challenging time for all. Please understand that we are closely watching and monitoring all Covid-19 safety precautions and regulations per state and federal guidelines. Please understand, due to these events, that not all SUP YO scheduled events may take place due to a stay at home order, travel ban or any other domestic or foreign regulation regarding Covid-19. We will update you as needed and as more information becomes available. This blog post will be updated as more information becomes available. Information will also go out in our newsletter. We care about you and the safety of all our customers and we look forward to getting outside with you all when it is safe to do so again. Until then, please be safe and be well. UPDATE: 5/30/20

Our Phase 1 re-opening plan begins June 6. The following activities and locations are now OPEN for registration:

SUP Yoga classes in 4 locations:
Hingham, Boston, Beverly, Worcester *New location this year

Yoga Hikes are filling up quickly so we have added another hiking option for beginners (and anyone else that wants to join!) to the summer schedule 🙂 This hike will take us to the summit of Mount Pemigewassett which offers spectacular views and a great spacious summit for yoga classes 🙂 Join us HERE.

Summer Wilderness Retreats are starting to fill up even though we have not been advertising them, but we will begin to this week!

Acadia National Park is officially OPENING as of June 1-6 in a phased process with the entire park scheduled to be open by end of June. Gatherings in the park are limited to 50 persons. We are taking reservations for this retreat and if for any reason we need to cancel, a FULL refund will be issued. We have added additional camping options and are requesting that cabins be shared by groups traveling together. More info and registration details HERE

Our White Water Rafting Retreat is starting to fill up! Three Rivers White Water Rafting Company is opening July 1 for rafting so they will be ready for us in August 🙂 We are taking reservations for this retreat and if for any reason we need to cancel, a FULL refund will be issued. We have added additional camping options and we have moved to the larger cabin so everyone in cabin accommodations can have a private bedroom. More info and registration details HERE

At this time you may review our full schedule and register for any of PHASE 1 activites HERE. Keep in mind class attendance is reduced due to COVID-19 and all registrations MUST be made in advance.

Pending On-water Locations: the following are pending a re-opening date: Hopkinton, Natick, Wakefield, Worcester, Amesbury, Seabrook NH, Rye NH

Cancelled/Closed locations at this time: Chelmsford, North Andover **There will be NO classes or kids camps in N. Andover for 2020.

SUP YO COVID-19 Safety Protocol Plans & Procedures:

Please review SUP YO’s Safety Plan for Operation during the COVID-19 re-opening period. The following safety protocols are to be adhered to by all customers when attending an activity or event with SUP YO. These activities/events include: paddleboard yoga classes, hikes, full moon & sunset paddles, and wilderness retreats. We will continue to comply with the mandatory safety measures required by the state(s) of MA, NH & ME during the re-opening period and until further notice. We look forward to meeting you outside, safely!

GENERAL SAFETY PROTOCOLS:

All registrations for all events must be made in advance, no walk in’s permitted.

SUP YO’s COVID-19 Control plan and our WELCOME SAFETY STANDARDS will both be posted at each location upon arrival for all students to review.

At time of registration all registrants will be pre-screened with 3 COVID-19 questions that must be answered to secure said booking.

A COVID-19 safety protocol email will be sent 2 days prior to the event and will include the safety requirements to adhere to when attending said event. Please read this email in its entirety to prepare you for your upcoming activity.

SOCIAL DISTANCING PLAN:

SUP Yoga: All classes will be limited to a total of 10 persons including the instructor. Students are required to wear a mask upon arrival, while prepping for class and during safety briefing and at any/all times when within 6′ of another person. Once on the water and anchored for class, masks may be removed and stowed during class. Please plan to bring a ziplock bag, dry bag or other container to stow your mask in. We suggest wearing a buff that can remain around your neck during class.

Yoga Hikes: All hikes will be limited to a total of 10 persons including the guide. Hikers should, in addition, move aside and leave room for others to pass while on the trail. Hikers are required to wear a mask upon arrival and during safety briefing and at any/all times when within 6′ of another person. One on the trail, masks may be removed while hiking 6′ distance apart. During class, students will be positioned 12′ from each other. Masks must again be worn once back in the parking lot and until you have exited the premises or are no longer within 6′ of another person.

Wilderness Retreats: On retreats, we will comply with the states guidelines on group gatherings, please see the retreat registration pages for more details. The same social distancing rules apply for retreaters as they do for the above.

All staff members and students are required to remain 6 from others at ALL TIMES unless there is an emergency in which a staff member is required to assist a student in which case protective safety gear will be worn.

HYGIENE PROTOCOLS:

All students and staff members MUST clean hands at the provided hand washing/sanitizing station upon arrival as well as departure. 

Staff members will follow the following protocol for cleaning equipment at the start of each class/event:

  1. Prepare all equipment for registered guests. In doing so, students are asked to only have contact with their own personal equipment from the start to end of class/event. No sharing of equipment is permitted. No helping each other is permitted unless required due to emergency.
  2. Sanitize all equipment at the start of class/event by:
    1. Spray sanitizing all equipment front and back at our mobile locations
    2. Cleaning all equipment with soap & water at DCR locations
  3. Sanitize all equipment at the end of class/event by:
    1. Spray sanitizing all equipment front and back at our mobile locations
    2. Cleaning all equipment with soap & water at DCR locations

STAFFING:

All staff members have been provided adequate training to adhere to and follow the safety protocols listed above.

Should a staff member display COVID-19 like symptoms they are asked to stay home and not return to work until they are feeling better and have been either A. tested negative or B. self quarantine for 14 days.

Should a staff member test positive for COVID-19 they are asked to stay home and not return to work until for a period of 14 days and provide proof of 2 negative COVID-19 tests.

CLEANING & DISINFECTING:

Staff members will arrive early to disinfect and prepare all equipment as stated above. Staff members will follow the following protocol:

  1. Arrive onsite 30-45 minutes before class
  2. Wash or sanitize hands at arrival
  3. Prepare all equipment for each registered student
  4. Sanitize all equipment front and back by:
    1. Spray sanitizing all equipment front and back at our mobile locations
    2. Cleaning all equipment with soap & water at DCR locations
  5. Wash or sanitize hands

Please note: Teachers will no longer carry/store car keys for students. All car keys can either stay on the person (in a dry bag or other waterproof container that they have brought) or be placed in a provided single zip lock bag, stowed during class/event, and redistributed to students/customers at the end of class.

Please kindly comply to these rules so that we may continue to enjoy getting outside together during this time. We will get through this together.
