Aly Grgurovic
Aly found yoga in 2013 after the birth of her second child, Lucy. It started out as just a gentle form of exercise and some much needed alone time, but as we now know, that slowly transformed into something more. Aly now keeps the practice of yoga within her always, both on and off the mat, and enjoys sharing the wisdom of yoga with her children, other family, friends, and everyone else she encounters. As B.K.S Iyengar said “Yoga is a light, which once lit, will never dim. The better your practice, the brighter the flame.”
In 2018, Aly left her full time job in ultrasound to be at home with her three children. This also gave her the opportunity to finally enroll in a yoga teacher training program, which Aly completed in 2020 at YogaBalance studio in Manchester, NH, amidst the pandemic. This was a YogaWorks YTT, which draws on the traditions of B.K. S Iyengar, K. Patthabi Jois, and T.K.V. Desikachar. Despite the difficult situation with the pandemic, Aly was blessed to find jobs at local gyms in the Derry NH area right away, and has been teaching in person and virtually roughly four times a week. Aly’s style of teaching is a moderate vinyasa flow, with emphasis on breath and alignment. She also enjoys teaching gentle yoga classes.
Aly has always loved the outdoors, so it is natural that she gravitated towards SUP YO Adventures. Whether hiking, biking, paddle boarding, kayaking, gardening, or snowshoeing, Aly spends as much time outdoors as possible, every day. Just as with yoga, she enjoys sharing this love of nature with everyone in her life, particularly her children, the future caretakers of this world. Aly believes that when we are indoors we forget our connection to the earth, the plants, wildlife, rocks, wind, infinite and each other. When we are outside and present in the environment, we remember and we feel this connection.
And so it all comes together! In April 2021 Aly is signed up for her WFA Wilderness First Aid Training. After that, she will begin leading Yoga Hikes in the Whites with SUP YO Adventures in her beautiful home state of New Hampshire! She hopes to see you on an outdoor adventure soon!
