SUP YO was founded by Jana Olenio, yoga instructor, travel agent and NH native, and was created from pure passion for nature and outdoor adventure. SUP YO was originally formed in 2011 as a paddleboard yoga company that over time evolved into many other outdoor adventure offerings from day hikes to weeklong worldwide adventure trips.

Laura Gisi

Laura knew from a very young age that a conventional 9-5 job simply wouldn’t suffice. After attempting and failing to conform to societal norms for a time, she made a promise to herself that she would never again submit to spending hours of her life sitting behind a desk or living a life that was less than magical. That was the moment her life truly began and the adventure filled world became her office and playground.

Laura’s interest in international travel was well established early in life, but it was not until 2001, when her mother passed away from breast cancer that she discovered yoga. She used it as a means to cope, finding solace in the practice as a way to stay grounded both physically and emotionally. After deepening her yoga practice and seeing the undeniable effects of incorporating it into her daily life, she decided to become an instructor so she could share those benefits with others.

After attending her first international yoga retreat, she realized that the combination of travel and yoga were truly the best of both worlds. Laura believes that  yoga teaches us how to exist in the present moment, fully experiencing the connection that happens between mind, body and soul while international travel allows you to leave your comfort zone and expand your horizons. Becoming a Yoga Instructor and Adventure Travel Guide has allowed Laura to combine her passions and transfer that passion onto others. She has honed both her leadership and travel skills during her adventures in dozens of countries and has also led and/or participated in yoga retreats in Asia, Africa, Bali, Iceland, Costa Rica, Croatia, Cuba, and Mexico to name a few.

Laura is passionate about emboldening others to discover their own true potential and awakening them to the infinite possibility that already resides within them.  Her favorite part about leading international yoga retreats is watching people transform by experiencing a deeper connection with nature, taking part in cultural exchange, trying new foods, going on adventures, expanding their yoga practice, and bonding with like-minded individuals. In her teaching and presence, it is her sincere intention to be a clear, open channel of love, energy, and opportunity.  In her spare time, you can find Laura at the local community theater directing plays, taking photographs of nature, writing, hiking, or spending time in the ocean snorkeling and surfing.

Laura dreams big and aims to help others do the same. She looks forward to welcoming you on a future adventure and watching you soar to new heights!

“One day you’ll leave this world behind, so live a life you will remember.”
