SUP YO was founded by Jana Olenio, yoga instructor, travel agent and NH native, and was created from pure passion for nature and outdoor adventure. SUP YO was originally formed in 2011 as a paddleboard yoga company that over time evolved into many other outdoor adventure offerings from day hikes to weeklong worldwide adventure trips.

In 2016, while attending Yoga Reaches Out, Leslie Brebner found SUP YO. Despite being an avid Vinyasa practitioner for many years, she wasn’t even aware that yoga was being done on a paddleboard! Intrigued by the idea, she signed up to receive emails in hopes of taking a class that summer. The emails included the itinerary for the upcoming Croatia Adventure – hiking, rafting, canyoning and of course, SUP yoga. Leslie signed up for the trip, not knowing anyone else that was going; a decision that changed the course of both her personal and professional paths. Croatia was life changing and afterwards, Leslie set a goal to become a certified yoga instructor with the intent of teaching paddleboard yoga and someday leading an international adventure trip. Leslie became yoga and paddleboard yoga certified in 2018 and began teaching for SUP YO that summer. Later that season, she led her first Yoga Hike in the Whites and the ‘Back to Earth’ Retreat at the AMC’s Lonesome Lake hut which combined both her passion for hiking and teaching SUP Yoga. Travel however became her new obsession and the goal of leading an international adventure trip was fulfilled in March of 2019 when she co-led SUP YO’s ‘Epic Patagonia Backcountry Adventure Retreat’ and later that fall, led ‘Into the Wild’ in Africa. Hiking has been a prominent part of Leslie’s travels especially after summiting Lenana Peak, Mt. Kenya while in Africa in 2019. She made the difficult decision to give up teaching on the water on a regular basis to tackle some of her new goals: the NH 48 4,000 footers, 52 hikes in 2020 and the New England Six Pack Peak Challenge. Leslie hopes to make “Guest Appearances” on the water this summer in Wakefield or Chelmsford and can be joined in September 2021 for SUP YO’s ‘Journey through Machu Picchu’ Retreat in Peru.
