SUP YO was originally formed in 2011 as a paddleboard yoga company that over time evolved into many other outdoor adventure offerings from day hikes to weeklong worldwide adventure trips.

Join us in the heart of the White Mountains for a Spring Cleanse and Ayurvedic Retreat to learn the foundations of this ancient medicine and lifestyle and return home with the tools to implement Ayurvedic practices into your daily life. This weekend will consist of 2 workshops, 3 yoga classes, 1 meditation, preparing and cooking an Ayurvedic meal together, and getting outside for time in nature.

Ayurveda is the sister practice to Yoga. It is known as “The Science of Life”. In this weekend’s workshop, Christie will share how to keep the body and mind healthy through diet, herbal and lifestyle remedies which are most valuable in supporting our health. As part of the Workshop, you will complete a questionnaire to learn about your dosha (mind/body constitution) which will empower you to observe, practice and change the life patterns that cause stress and imbalance. Extensive Hand-outs are provided as ongoing resources for this valuable life-long practice of health and wellness.

As part of this weekend retreat & workshop, you will learn:

  • What Ayurveda is, how Ayurveda is connected to Yoga and how Ayurveda can help you
  • Learn what is your Dosha and what general methods can help bring you back to or keep you in a state of natural balance.

About Your Instructor:

Your instructor, Christie Ann Rochette, is an accredited Ayurvedic Yoga Specialist, a 500 + hour certified Yoga Instructor, a trained Aerial, Children’s, Chair, Neuromuscular Balance, Rad Roller, Restorative, Thai, Trauma-informed, Vinyasa and Yin Yoga Teacher, as well as a qualified Human Behavioral Consultant. Her main focus is on living a preventative lifestyle with healing modalities from holistic health approaches, including both Yoga and Ayurveda, amongst other therapeutic methods, such as Aromatherapy. She has a natural desire to help others and enjoys sharing her passion with those who are interested in empowering themselves by reclaiming their own individual health.

Itinerary and pricing

Below is a daily agenda for this weekend retreat + a description of each workshop and yoga class offered. We will offer one Yoga class and one Ayurvedic workshop per day so you have time to process the information and start implementing some of it into your daily practices. We also include time to get outside in nature, relax and recharge and prepare and eat delicious food.

Here is a breakdown of what to expect in each workshop:

 

Ayurveda Workshop #1:

Learn what Ayurveda is, how Ayurveda is connected to Yoga and how Ayurveda can help you. Learn what is your Dosha and what general methods can help bring you back to or keep you in a state of natural balance. Learn about the Ayurvedic clock: times of day, seasons of year, stages of life. Prepare and make your own Kitchari bowl.

Ayurveda Workshop #2:

Learn how Ayurveda can help you find individual balance (foods, herbs, Yoga poses, breathing practices, meditation, etc.) Learn Ayurvedic daily cleansing practices (self-massage, tongue scraping, nasal irrigation, etc.) Learn about Ayurvedic & aromatherapeutic dosha balancing massage oils & other items such as dry brush, tongue scraper, neti pot, ghee, churna, etc.)

About Our Ayurvedic Yoga Classes:

Zenergie Yoga & Ayurveda Zenergie blends Yoga and Ayurveda together to work in tandem with each other to bring us closer towards our natural state of balance, while moving us further away from imbalance, which is the root cause of disease. Ayurveda is one of the oldest known medical sciences, which literally translates into “life knowledge.” It helps us to rediscover our own elemental nature, as well as to assist us in understanding how to work with it, rather than against it, in order to achieve homeostasis. Although many people have recently become familiar with Yoga, there are not as many people that know about its’ “sister science”, Ayurveda. Ayurveda addresses the holistic mental and physical health of the individual, while Yoga relies on this foundation to move into the heart of the matter; our spiritual well-being.

Ayurveda Dosha Yoga or Five Elements Flow This class looks at Yoga through the lens of Ayurveda, so it incorporates a few different styles of Yoga into one practice that results in balance for all body types in a group setting. Typically, there is a blend of Pranayama (breath work) while centering and grounding, Yin Yoga or stretching postures to open up, warm-up, Vinyasa Yoga Flow to create heat, cool down, and a Yoga Nidra meditative body scan before a Savasana (supine position.) This is available for all levels of students from beginner to advanced!

Add in a friendly and enthusiastic group of individuals and you have the makings for the perfect weekend retreat! We couldn’t have asked for better weather! Spectacular! All in all, practically perfect in every way! Jana was accommodating, helpful and is a wonderful yoga instructor!
